Hello

Hi, I'm Jess. I'm a health and mindset coach and mentor, a big believer in calm success, and an unapologetic lover of donkeys (I could talk about them all day, just so you know what you're getting into). With over 12 years' experience as an integrative health practitioner and now a registered health coach, I've had the joy of helping hundreds of women find their way back to themselves.

I help busy, overwhelmed and anxious women restore their energy, find calm, and feel genuinely happy in their lives again.

I know this work because I've lived it. I used to push through, ignore my own needs, and wait for life to calm down… but it never did. That experience (along with a few others!) shapes how I help others now.

I'm the founder of Golden Bear Therapies, a former grower of micro salad for Michelin star restaurants turned equine and human Bowen therapist turned Health Coach and Mindset Mentor (yes, that really is all one person!), a passionate nature enthusiast, and very proud pet parent of 2 dogs, a horse, and a donkey.

I believe every woman deserves to feel genuinely at home in her own life — anxiety free, calm, confident, and happy — and I'm on a mission to help as many of them as possible get there.

My Story

I was nineteen when I started working with horses professionally. Not just riding them, but understanding them. I was training as an equine pain management specialist, which sounds technical, but what it really was, was learning to read an animal who cannot tell you where it hurts. You have to slow down. You have to watch, and listen, and feel. You have to trust what the body is telling you even when it contradicts what everyone else says is fine.

That work took me further than I ever expected. I spent time in South America, working with horses in landscapes so vast and quiet they rearrange something in your chest! The after qualifying as a Bowen therapist for people, I then went to Bosnia, supporting trauma survivors from the Bosnian war— people who had lived through things that most of us can barely imagine. I was in my mid twenties, and I was watching, up close, how deeply the body holds what the mind cannot yet speak. It changed me. It showed me that healing is not just a physical process. It never was. It is mental, emotional and dare I say even spiritual!

That foundation never left me. But somewhere along the way, as I built a career, took on qualifications, grew a practice, and said yes to far too many things, I forgot to apply any of it to myself!

I pushed through when I was exhausted. I told myself I'd slow down once things calmed down. I carried stress in my body until it became physical: severe IBS, never ending exhaustion, burn-out and I had a crippling fear of public speaking - the kind where your heart pounds so hard before you open your mouth that you're convinced everyone in the room can hear it! I ignored my own needs so consistently that my body started making a louder and louder noise, until I genuinely couldn't ignore it anymore.

I don't say this to be dramatic. I say it because it's true, and because I know that if you're reading this, you might recognise some version of it in yourself. The waiting for life to calm down. The pushing through. The gradual realisation that the life you're working so hard to build doesn't actually feel the way you thought it would.

What changed things for me wasn't a single breakthrough moment. It was slow, and it was earned. I trained formally — gaining my Diploma in RAISE Life Coaching and my Diploma in Health Creation Coaching, the latter in partnership with the remarkable Dr. Rosy Daniels and the Health Creation programme she built. I dug into the science of stress, the nervous system, the relationship between how we live and how we feel. I put into practice everything I was learning and noticed — slowly, then more clearly — that the IBS improved, the burn-out disappeared. My energy came back online. My mind became calmer. The public speaking fear reduced to something manageable, then something I actually enjoy. The relentless sense of 'on' started to soften.

And now I live doing work I genuinely believe in and love, with clients I genuinely care about. I didn't arrive here by accident. I arrived here because I did the work and because I had the right support when I needed it.

That's what I want to offer you.

Who I Work With

You might be reading this because something in you recognises a pattern you're tired of living in.

Maybe you run a business that, by most measures, is going well. You're capable. You're dependable. People come to you because you always come through. But the cost of all that showing up is something you're carrying quietly, the brain that won't switch off (even at night), the Sunday dread, the constant background feeling that you should be doing more, being more, further along by now.

Maybe you're the person who looks completely fine from the outside, and that's part of the problem. Because no one quite sees how hard you're working just to hold it together. You're not in crisis. You're just never not tired.

Or perhaps it's more specific than that: you've noticed that you're short-tempered with people you love. That you've stopped doing the things that used to fill you up — the walks, the reading, the proper evenings off — because there's always something else. That you keep starting things and not finishing them, or finishing things and immediately moving to the next thing without ever letting yourself feel good about it.

These patterns have names: burnout, overwhelm, perfectionism, people-pleasing, anxiety, low self-worth. But the truth is, they often look like a very competent woman who just needs to try harder. She doesn't. She needs something different.

I work with women who are ready to stop managing their overwhelm and start actually reducing it. Women who want to feel calm, not just cope better. Women who want to grow a business that sustains them rather than depletes them, and who are willing to look honestly at the beliefs, habits, and patterns that have been quietly running the show.

I also work with men, particularly those navigating big life transitions like retirement, career change, the question of what comes next when the thing that defined you no longer does.

Whoever you are: if you're tired of waiting for life to calm down on its own, I'd love to talk.

My Approach

I don't do one-size-fits-all coaching. I never have.

Every client I work with is different. Different history, different nervous system, different definition of what a good life actually looks like for them. So while I have a clear framework and proven tools, the way I use them is always shaped by you.

The foundation of my work is Health Creation coaching, developed by Dr. Rosy Daniels, a methodology that treats health as something you actively build, rather than the absence of illness. We look at twelve interconnected areas of life: the food you eat, the way you move, how you manage stress, your emotional landscape, your relationships, your sense of purpose and connection. Not because you need to overhaul everything at once, but because understanding the whole picture is how we find the right lever to pull.

Layered alongside this is RAISE Life Coaching — a structured, practical approach to mindset that gives you real tools for real situations. The triangle of communication. Mindset reframing. Present moment techniques. Values-based living. These aren't concepts to think about — they're things we practise together until they become second nature.

My own background as a trained Bowen Therapist has deepened my understanding of how the body holds stress and how physical and emotional tension are woven together; even though I no longer offer Bowen as a standalone treatment, that body-based understanding runs through everything I do.

In practice, this comes together in what I call the Freedom Framework: a step-by-step path through the core work of getting unstuck, building clarity, reducing stress, shifting your mindset, and creating the kind of freedom that lasts. This framework is at the heart of the Freedom Hub, my membership community where you get access to the full sixteen-week course, live group coaching, peer support, and a monthly podcast — all in one place, so the support is consistent rather than a one-off.

For those who want deeper, more personalised support, I offer private one-to-one coaching and my Regrounded Woman Programme or Mindset Reset Programme — a twelve-week journey that combines Health Creation sessions with focused mindset modules, tailored entirely to you.

We work over Zoom or by phone. No commute, no awkward waiting room. Just a proper conversation, from wherever you are, with someone who is fully present and genuinely glad you're there.

QUALIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS

I trained formally because I believe in doing this work properly. Not just reading widely or collecting online certificates that take 1 week to complete!, but really understanding the methodologies I use, what the research says, why the tools work, and where the edges of my expertise lie.

I hold a Diploma in RAISE Life Coaching and a Diploma in Health Creation Coaching and Mentoring, the latter completed in partnership with Health Creation and Dr. Rosy Daniels. Before all of this, I trained as a Bowen Therapist — a background that gave me a deep grounding in how the body carries stress and tension, and one that quietly informs everything I do now, even though I no longer practise it as a standalone therapy.

I am a proud member of the UK International Health Coaching Association (UKIHCA), which means my practice is held to a recognised professional standard and is fully verifiable.

But qualifications aren't something you finish. I complete a minimum of twenty-five hours of continuing professional development every year, and I work with both a professional mentor and a coaching supervisor. I do this because I take my own growth as seriously as I take my clients' and because supervision isn't just a requirement, it's one of the things that keeps this work honest.

I've been working in holistic health and coaching for over twelve years. That means I've sat with a lot of people in a lot of different places in their lives, and I've kept learning from every single one of them.

GUIDES & RESOURCES I'VE PUBLISHED

Over the years I've created a number of free resources for the women (and men) I work with — practical, accessible tools you can pick up and use without having to sign up for anything or commit to anything big.

  • FREE GUIDE: Slow Down Without Falling Behind. This is the guide I wish someone had handed me when I was at my most stretched. It's for women entrepreneurs who feel like resting is somehow dangerous, like the moment they stop, everything will fall apart. It walks through the nervous-system reason that rest feels unsafe (it's not laziness; it's wiring), and offers five concrete, gentle ways to start building in genuine rest without the guilt. You can download it here.

  • VIDEO SERIES: Feel Good Again: 3-Part Reset:  A free three-part video series, each one under ten minutes long. Think of it as a gentle reset — something to come back to when the overwhelm is high and you need a guided place to start. It drips weekly, so it's paced rather than overwhelming. You can start it here.

  • THE FREEDOM HUB PODCAST: Each month on my Freedom Hub membership I record a new podcast episode connected to a mental or holistic health theme. I try to make it feel like 15 -20 minutes with a friend — honest, practical, and not at all preachy. New episodes go out on the last week of the month.

  • ONLINE COURSE : The Freedom Framework Course A 16-week structured programme inside the Freedom Hub, taking you step by step through the five pillars of lasting change: clarity, stress, mindset, freedom, and progress. Built for people who want real, sustainable transformation, not a quick fix. You can view it here.

  • BLOG: The Golden Bear Blog. Honest, practical articles on mindset, wellbeing, and the messy reality of building a life you actually enjoy. Written from over a decade of clinical experience and my own lived journey. No fluff, no filler, just the stuff that actually helps!

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

I could tell you how the coaching works. But honestly, the best way I know to describe it is to let the people who've lived it do the talking.
